NAME
midiread
- tclm command to read a Standard MIDI File
SYNOPSIS
fileId
DESCRIPTION
is a
tclm
command that reads a Standard
MIDI
File for
later use by other
MIDI
specific tclm commands.
takes one argument that specifies a file
descriptor from which to read the Standard
MIDI
File.
This argument should be a value returned by
the
open(3)
tcl command, or
``stdin''
Since
allocates space for the Standard
MIDI
File,
midifree(3)
should be used
when the file is no longer needed.
RETURN VALUES
returns a
MIDI
file
ID
for use by other
MIDI
specific
tclm commands.
If there is no data to be read,
forces an error and returns
``EOF.''
This facilitates determining
when there are no more files
to be read from
stdin
